Takahiro Izumikawa is a pianist and keyboardist based in New York. He is an endorsed artist for Ableton, Dave Smith Instruments, and Hammond Organ.
Currently, Izumikawa is the regular pianist for Grammy Award-winning artist Maurice Brown (Tp from Anderson .Paak), Timothy Bloom (Vo), Marcus Machado (Gt), and Jermaine Holmes (Vo from D'Angelo, Erykah Badu), among others.
He has also collaborated extensively in live performances and recordings with notable musicians such as Anderson .Paak, Keyon Harrold (Tp from D'Angelo, Erykah Badu, Common), YEBBA (vocalist), Marcus Gilmore (Dr), Daru Jones (Dr), and Mononeon (Bs from Prince).
Additionally, Izumikawa has participated as a keyboardist in live shows for 90s hip-hop legends like Talib Kweli, Smif & Wessun, Kool Keith, Black Moon, and Smoke DZA.
In 2016, Izumikawa composed, arranged, and produced the score for the short movie "ROCOCONEURON," which won the Gold Award for Best Score at the NYC Indie Film Awards.
In 2017, he was responsible for all the arrangements and horn sections for jazz legend Vincent Herring's (As) album "Hard Times," collaborating with Cyrus Chestnut (Pf), Russell Malone (Gt), Carl Allen (Dr), and Yasushi Nakamura (Bs).
The following year, in 2018, he joined Vincent Herring and Eric Alexander (Ts) for a month-long tour as their pianist. In 2019, he arranged all the tracks and horn sections for Herring's new album.
That same year, Izumikawa signed with the major American label Ropeadope and released his full album of original songs, "Life is Your Thoughts," on April 10, 2020.
The album features collaborations with a variety of singers and musicians, including Jermaine Holmes and Bajah. Jermaine Holmes's song "Take Me Back," which samples Izumikawa's track "Shigan," was included in Holmes's full album "Stronger Than My Fears."
In 2022, the total streaming count for original songs by singer Sarah Kang, for whom Izumikawa has done composition, arrangement, and live support, exceeded 245 million plays.
Izumikawa has participated in numerous prestigious jazz festivals around the world, including the Montreux Jazz Festival (Canada), Java Jazz (Indonesia), New Orleans Jazz (USA), and Rio das Ostras Jazz (Brazil).
In 2023, he successfully completed a seven-show tour in China, including three concert halls, with his album "Ru." In 2024, he plans to expand his activities to London, where he will perform for the first time with his own band in April.
Major Activities in Japan
Izumikawa has been involved in numerous J-POP recordings, including those for MISIA and Nanase Aikawa, and performed at the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '11 with the swing band "KingColumbia." He has composed and produced music for commercials, such as Java Curry and AEON men's suits, and film scores.
In the same year, he performed at the Blue Note Jazz Festival with the MISIA×TAKUYA KURODA group, sharing the headline with Earth Wind and Fire, George Benson, and Marcus Miller. Since 2018, he has toured Japan as a pianist with the Takuya Kuroda group, performing at Blue Note Tokyo and various festivals.

2022年、作曲、アレンジ、ライブサポートを担当しているシンガーSarah Kangのオリジナル曲の総再生回数が２億４５００万回を超える。
モントルージャズ（カナダ）、Javaジャズ（インドネシア）、ニューオリンズジャズ、（アメリカ）リオ・デ・オストラスジャズ（ブラジル）、など世界有数のジャズフェスティバルにも多数参加。
2023年自身のアルバム流(Ru) でコンサートホール３箇所を含む中国７公演のツアーを成功させる。2024年は活動の場をロンドンまで広げ、４月に自身のリーダーバンドとしては初めての公演を行う。
主な日本の活動
MISIA, 相川七瀬をはじめJ-POPのレコーディングも数多く参加し、2011年スイングバンド『KingColumbia』でFUJI ROCK FESTIBAL'11に出演。ジャワカレー、イオンメンズスーツをはじめとしたCM曲や映画音楽を多数作曲、制作。2016年全曲作曲、アレンジ，制作を担当したショートムービーROCOCONEURONではNYC INDIE FILM AWARDS BEST SCORE (ニューヨークインディフィルムベストオリジナル音楽賞)で金賞を獲得。同年MISIA×TAKUYA KURODAグループでブルーノートジャズフェスティバルに出演しEarth Wind and Fire, George Benson, Marcus Millerと共にヘッドラインを務める。
2018年以降、TakuyaKurodaグループとしてブルーノート東京を始めさまざまなフェスティバルを回る日本ツアーにピアニストとして参加。
