Takahiro Izumikawa is a New York–based pianist and keyboardist endorsed by Ableton, Dave Smith Instruments (Sequential), and Hammond Organ.
Currently, Izumikawa is the regular pianist for GRAMMY® winner Maurice Brown (tp; Anderson .Paak), Timothy Bloom (vo), Marcus Machado (gt), and Jermaine Holmes (vo; D’Angelo, Erykah Badu).
He has collaborated extensively—live and on record—with Anderson .Paak, Keyon Harrold (tp; D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, Common), YEBBA, Marcus Gilmore (dr), Daru Jones (dr), and MonoNeon (bs; Prince). He has also appeared as a keyboardist with 90s hip-hop legends Talib Kweli, Smif-N-Wessun, Kool Keith, Black Moon, and Smoke DZA.
In 2016, Izumikawa composed, arranged, and produced the score for the short film ROCOCO NEURON, winning the NYC Indie Film Awards – Best Score (Gold).
In 2017, he handled all arrangements and horn sections for jazz legend Vincent Herring’s album Hard Times, collaborating with Cyrus Chestnut (pf), Russell Malone (gt), Carl Allen (dr), and Yasushi Nakamura (bs). In 2018 he toured a month with Vincent Herring & Eric Alexander as pianist.
He signed with Ropeadope to release his leader album Life Is Your Thoughts (Apr 10, 2020), featuring Jermaine Holmes and Bajah; Holmes’s “Take Me Back,” sampling Izumikawa’s “Shigan,” appears on Holmes’s album Stronger Than My Fears.
By 2022, Sarah Kang’s tracks featuring my performance and arrangements — with production credits on select songs — surpassed 245 million streams.
Festival appearances include Montreal Jazz Festival (Canada), Java Jazz (Indonesia), New Orleans Jazz & Heritage (USA), and Rio das Ostras Jazz (Brazil).

Major Activities in Japan
Izumikawa has recorded for MISIA and Nanase Aikawa, and performed at FUJI ROCK ’11 with swing band KingColumbia. He has composed/produced music for commercials (Java Curry, AEON men’s suits) and film scores.
He performed at the Blue Note Jazz Festival with the MISIA × TAKUYA KURODA group, sharing the bill with Earth, Wind & Fire, George Benson, and Marcus Miller. Since 2018 he has toured Japan as pianist with Takuya Kuroda, performing at Blue Note Tokyo and major festivals.

翌年2018年Vincent Herring,Eric Alexander(Ts)グループの１ヶ月に渡るツアーにピアニストとして参加。2019年同氏のニューアルバムの全曲アレンジ、ホーンセクション作成も担当。2019年アメリカのメジャーレーベルRopeadopeと契約し、2020年4月10日に全曲オリジナルのフルアルバム“Life is Your Thoughts”を発売。Jermaine Holmes,Bajahをはじめ、数多くのバラエティ豊かなシンガー、ミュージシャンとコラボレートしている。アルバム曲の”Shigan”をサンプリングして作ったJermaine Holmesの曲”Take Me Back”がJermaineのフルアルバム”Stronger Than My Fears”に収録されている。
2022年、作曲、アレンジ、ライブサポートを担当しているシンガーSarah Kangのオリジナル曲の総再生回数が２億４５００万回を超える。

2023年、Maurice Brown や Black Dynamite をフィーチャーしたEP「流（Ru）」を発表。日本（飛騨ジャズフェスティバルを含む）および中国を巡るツアーを実施。Jing’an Concert Hall、Shanghai Steinway Hall、Blue Note Beijing、JZ Club Shanghai、Qinqiao Music Hall、Jiuke Tree Concert Hall、Lincoln Center Shanghai などで公演を行う。
同年8月10日、NYの Little Island（The Glade）にヘッドライナーとして出演。
2024年4月11日、ロンドンの Jazz re:freshed Weekly（Ninety One Living Room）にてシングル「Unaffected Spell」リリース公演を開催。
同年、ドラマー Chris Dave が全曲に参加したフル・アルバム「Off Sync」を発表し、日本／台湾／中国を巡るツアーを実施。日本橋パブリック・ジャズ・フェスティバル（メインステージ）、Blue Yard Osaka、Blue Note Place（東京）、白神ホール（秋田）、台北 Black Hat、Revolver、APA Mini、中国 JZ Club（上海／広州／杭州）、Nine Trees Future Art Centre などで公演。
メディア露出として、2023〜24年に中国の iQIYI ニュースおよび上海の浦東ニュース（Pudong News）で特集。
著作として、2024年11月に『超実践音楽力』（Kindle／Access Art Studio）を刊行。Amazon Kindle の「TV」「エンタメ」「教育」の3部門で1位を獲得。
2024〜25年の HoYoFair ミュージカル『Shadows Over Insumousu』では主任アレンジャー／ミキシング・エンジニアを務め、YouTube 再生1,000万回超、付随EPは初月15万回超のストリーミングを記録。
2024年に Access Art Works LLC を設立。代表／プロデューサーとして作品リリース、ツアー、教育プログラムを統括し、レベニューシェア契約のソフトウェアエンジニアとフルタイムのデザイナーを擁して、創作・経済の両面で継続的なインパクトを生み出している。
【主な日本の活動】
MISIA, 相川七瀬をはじめJ-POPのレコーディングも数多く参加し、2011年スイングバンド『KingColumbia』でFUJI ROCK FESTIBAL'11に出演。ジャワカレー、イオンメンズスーツをはじめとしたCM曲や映画音楽を多数作曲、制作。2016年全曲作曲、アレンジ，制作を担当したショートムービーROCOCONEURONではNYC INDIE FILM AWARDS BEST SCORE (ニューヨークインディフィルムベストオリジナル音楽賞)で金賞を獲得。同年MISIA×TAKUYA KURODAグループでブルーノートジャズフェスティバルに出演しEarth Wind and Fire, George Benson, Marcus Millerと共にヘッドラインを務める。
2018年以降、TakuyaKurodaグループとしてブルーノート東京を始めさまざまなフェスティバルを回る日本ツアーにピアニストとして参加。
